BMW G80 M3 & G82/G83 M4 OEM++ Front Lip Splitter SPL1 – Prepreg Dry Carbon Fiber (Unitexclusives)

We designed the SPL1 to give the BMW G80 M3 and G82/G83 M4 a sharper, more planted front end. We took the idea of BMW’s M Performance splitter and pushed it further: carbon corners in place of the gloss-black factory pieces, and one bold center blade that reaches just past the bumper line.

The look

Under the tall grille, the SPL1 draws one clean carbon line from corner to corner. The factory car has gloss-black pieces only at the corners; the SPL1 adds a center blade that sits a touch proud of the bumper, so the nose looks lower and more deliberate.

The reshaped corner sections push out a little to widen the stance. The twill weave shows under a gloss finish: on bright paint, like the yellow, green, teal, pink and blue cars in our photos, it reads as a crisp dark underline, and on dark blue it blends in for a quieter, factory-plus look.

Made for the M3 and M4

The G80 M3 sedan, G82 M4 coupe and G83 M4 convertible share one of the boldest faces BMW has drawn: a deep, frameless kidney grille, split intakes and vertical air curtains at the outer edges. At the lower corners, the factory fits gloss-black aero pieces, part of a black band that runs around the car with the side sills.

The SPL1 turns those corners into carbon and adds the center blade, so your M3 or M4 gets a full carbon front edge, the kind BMW fits as standard to its limited M3 CS, M4 CS and M4 CSL.

Why this one

BMW’s genuine M Performance carbon splitter for these cars (part 51192475168) sells for far more than the SPL1, and we drew the SPL1 to take that shape further, with its single blade and wider corners.

At the other end of the market, many lower-priced lips are wet carbon, or fiberglass under a thin carbon skin, and cheaper clear coats can yellow over time. Ours is prepreg dry carbon fiber with a gloss finish.

Living with it

Like any front lip, the SPL1 sits at the lowest edge of the bumper, so take steep driveways, parking blocks and speed bumps slowly and at an angle. On lowered cars, some owners fit slide-on scrape guards under their lips for peace of mind.

It fixes to the car’s original screw holes with no drilling, so it can come off again later and the factory corner pieces can go back on.
