Check the build month before any dash trim
BMW gave M4s built from March 2023 iDrive 8 and the curved display, about eight months after the M3 changed. An M4 sold as a 2023 model can therefore have either dashboard. The 2025 facelift then moved to iDrive 8.5 and added contour lighting around the central vents. The carbon dash trim tracks those steps with 6-piece ID7, ID8 and ID8.5 sets and a 5-piece set that spans all three. The iDrive 8 vent cover is listed for 2023 cars, and the iDrive 8.5 front vent cover and center trim for 2025 cars. The rear aircon vent cover is listed for the M4 but not the M3. Its name mentions the G83 convertible and the G87 M2, so G82 coupe owners should send a photo of the rear console vent first. The console side pieces fit automatic cars with the standard console, not leather-wrapped trim; the console cover is offered LHD or RHD, and the armrest box cover is LHD only. Does an early 2023 M4 need iDrive 7 or iDrive 8 trim?
It depends on the build month, not the model year. BMW switched the M4 to iDrive 8 and the curved display for cars built from March 2023, so a car built before then takes the ID7 dash set, and one built from March on takes the ID8 set and the iDrive 8 vent cover. The month is on the driver's door jamb label.
Is anything in the M4 interior range different from the M3 range?
Very little. Of the parts on this page, only the rear aircon vent cover isn't listed for the G80 M3, while the M3 gets a full dry carbon rear seat delete that isn't listed for the M4.
