Every X3M front lip on this page is shaped for the facelifted LCI bumper that arrived with the 2022 model year. Choose our own splitter, designed from a 3D scan of an LCI, or an SQ-style lip. Each is pre-preg dry carbon with a gloss finish, and our splitter and the SQ Type-B lip are listed for the X4M too.

Picking an X3M front lip for the LCI
Our LCI front splitter is the one we designed ourselves. We 3D-scanned an LCI at our shop and built the splitter around that data, and only Unit 17 sells it. It comes with pre-drilled mounting holes, self-tapping screws and the installation hardware, and it is listed for the X3 M and the X4 M.
The SQ Type-B lip also covers both bodies. It extends the lower edge of the factory bumper and fixes to the original mounting hardware with 3M double-sided tape, which is included, so nothing is drilled. The SQ-style lip goes on the same way but is listed for the X3 M only. Both SQ listings recommend a professional installer to get the alignment right. Neither spells out how the two SQ shapes differ, so compare their photos from the front and the side.
Why a pre-LCI lip won't do
BMW M redesigned the front bumper for the facelift. The kidney grille grew and now reaches down into the bumper, the center intake became flatter and wider, and the outer intakes turned into tall, vertical openings that bend down toward the lip. Lips are cut for one bumper or the other, and our splitter's listing states plainly that it won't fit a pre-facelift car.
Check the model year too. Our splitter is listed for 2022 to 2024 cars, the Type-B lip for 2022 to 2025. The X3 M was built until 2024, while the X4 M carried on into a final 2025 model year, so a 2025 X4 M owner should start with the Type-B lip or text 609-525-4865. Frequently asked questions
Which LCI front lips also fit the X4M?
Our LCI splitter and the SQ Type-B lip are both listed for the X4 M LCI as well as the X3 M. The plain SQ-style lip is listed for the X3 M only. One more check for a 2025 X4 M: our splitter's listing stops at 2024, while the Type-B listing includes 2025, so text us before ordering ours for a 2025 car.
How can I tell if my X3M has the LCI front bumper?
Look at the outer intakes. On the LCI they are tall, vertical openings that angle down toward the lip, and the larger kidney grille reaches into the bumper. In the US the LCI arrived for the 2022 model year. If you're still not sure, text a photo of the front of your car to 609-525-4865 before you order.
Does the Unit 17 LCI splitter need drilling?
It arrives with pre-drilled mounting holes, self-tapping screws and the installation hardware. The listing doesn't say whether the bumper itself needs drilling, so ask us before you book an installer. For a no-drill fit, the SQ-style and SQ Type-B lips use the factory mounting hardware with 3M double-sided tape.
