BMW G80 M3 & G82/G83 M4 Side Skirt Extensions V2 – Prepreg Dry Carbon Fiber (Unitexclusives)

We designed the V2 side skirt extensions to give the BMW G80 M3 and G82/G83 M4 one slim, flat carbon blade under each factory sill. No winglet, just a sharper edge between the wheels that pulls the side profile visually closer to the road.

The look

From the side, the V2 draws a single dark line under the sill, running almost from wheel to wheel. It reaches a little past the sill’s lower edge as a flat shelf, so the car sits lower to the eye while the factory panel above stays as BMW shaped it.

The blade stays flat right out to its angled tips. Up close, the twill weave shows under a deep gloss finish; from a few steps back, on the mint-green M3 in our photos, it becomes a crisp black underline beneath the bright paint.

Made for the M3 and M4

The G80 M3 sedan, G82 M4 coupe and G83 M4 convertible share the S58 twin-turbo inline-six and wide, flared fenders. BMW calls the extended side sills, together with those fenders, the car’s most striking design feature.

From the factory, the sills join the front and rear aero pieces in a gloss-black band around the car. BMW says its own carbon side skirt trims make the car look longer; the V2 keeps the factory sill and adds that carbon edge beneath it.

Why this one

BMW’s own M Performance carbon side skirts (51192473040/041 for the M3, 51192473414/415 for the M4) are sold one side at a time, often with a long wait, and a pair costs well over the V2 set.

Extensions for these cars also come in wet carbon, the heavier process. The V2 is prepreg dry carbon throughout. Where our other extension ends in a small flared winglet, the V2 stays one flat, clean blade.

Living with it

The V2 becomes the lowest edge along each side, so give tall curbs and concrete parking stops a little extra room when you pull in close.

Before the car goes on a lift or jack, point the shop to the factory jacking points: side skirts need careful jack placement, and the pads should never touch the carbon.

• Choose G80 M3 or G82 M4 in the options. For a G83 M4 convertible, check with us before ordering.
• If your car already wears M Performance or other aftermarket side skirts, check with us first.

Installation

• Mounting. Bolt-on, through pre-drilled holes along a raised rib on top of each blade
• In the box. Side skirt extensions, left and right (1 pair)
• Fitting. Easy bolt-on work. If anything looks wrong on the test fit, contact us before installing.

Good to know

• The mint-green M3 in our photos has body-color sills; BMW fits them in gloss black.
• That car also wears carbon mirror caps and carbon M gill trims. The V2 is the side blades only.
