Carbon fiber front lips and splitters, led by the BMW G80 M3 and G82/G83 M4, with more for other M cars, Audi and Mercedes-AMG. For the G8x cars you can choose our own SPL1 OEM++ or one-piece SPL2, CSL, CS and MP-style lips, the one-piece V3, or OEM-style replacement corners.
Unit 17 also designs splitters for the G87 M2, the X3 M and X4 M (separate LCI and pre-LCI versions), the 2025+ Audi RS3 and the Audi Q7/SQ7. Beyond those you’ll find lips for the M5, X5 M, X6 M, F87 M2 and F80/F82, older 3, 4 and 5 Series M Sport cars, the RS6/RS7 C8 and two C63 generations. Newer listings are mostly pre-preg dry carbon, while older ones say real carbon fiber.

Lip, splitter, corner or kit?
Strictly, a lip follows the bottom edge of the bumper and a splitter sits flatter and reaches further forward. Our listings use the words loosely, often both at once, so judge by the photos and description rather than the name. What matters more is what's in the box. One-piece designs such as the SPL2, the V3 and the RS3 S1 Pro run corner to corner. Three-piece sets, like the F80/F82 Performance-style kit, the C63 Edition 1 style and the 8 Series AC style, go on in sections. Corner splitters for the F87 M2, F80 M3 and F90 M5 cover only the ends of the bumper.
Choosing a carbon fiber front lip for the G80 M3 and G82 M4
Decide first how far you want to move from the factory look. The SPL1 OEM++ and the CSL-style lip stay closest to BMW's shapes and fit to the original screw holes with no drilling. The CS and MP styles follow other factory-inspired outlines, and the SPL2, a single pre-preg piece with a layered face, moves furthest from the factory look. Two parts work differently: the V3 mounts beneath the factory gloss-black corners, and the OEM-style corners replace the corner pieces, in versions for 2021+ and 2023+ cars. G87 M2, X3 M and other BMWs
The G87 M2 has two Unit 17 splitters: the SPL1, a one-piece design with vents molded in that uses OEM mounting and needs no drilling, and the one-piece SPL2 with a deeper front ledge, which can be paint-matched on request. On the X3 M and X4 M our LCI splitter (2022 to 2024) and pre-LCI splitter don't interchange, and the SQ-style LCI lips are a third option. The F90 M5 and F95 X5 M lips also come in separate LCI and pre-LCI versions. The F87 M2 Competition and CS take their own splitters, separate from the original M2's, and most 3, 4 and 5 Series, X3/X4, X5, X6 and 8 Series splitters are listed for M Sport bumpers only.
Audi and Mercedes-AMG
The Audi RS3 8Y has separate splitters for the pre-facelift car and the 2025+ 8Y.5 facelift, plus our S1 Pro lip for the facelift sedan and Sportback. The pre-facelift S3 8Y and S5 B9 and the RS6/RS7 C8 are covered, and for the Q7/SQ7 4M we scanned the car and designed our own three-piece splitter. The W205 C63 has Brabus-style, Edition 1-style and pre-LCI dry carbon options, and there are splitters for the W204 C63, the facelift W205 C43 and C-Class, and the CLA45.
How they mount
Mounting varies more than style. The X3 M/X4 M splitters come with pre-drilled holes and self-tapping screws, and the SQ-style X3 M lips combine factory hardware with 3M tape. Many older listings for F-series BMWs, the C63 and the CLA45 state that drilling is required, and the F80 GTS-style lip suggests extra screws because of its size. Whichever you choose, test-fit it before painting or drilling. Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between the SPL1 and SPL2?
Both are Unit 17 designs in pre-preg dry carbon for the G80 M3 and G82/G83 M4. The SPL1 OEM++ follows the outline of BMW's M Performance splitter, but where BMW uses three small fins in the center it has one larger blade that reaches slightly past the bumper line, and its corners are reshaped to look wider. The SPL2 is a one-piece lip with a multi-level face made for paint accents, mounted with factory hardware plus optional pre-drilled support points. Pick the SPL1 for a factory-plus look and the SPL2 to stand apart.
Which front lips are Unit 17 designs?
The SPL1 and SPL2 for the G80 M3 and G82/G83 M4, the SPL1 and SPL2 for the G87 M2, the LCI and pre-LCI splitters for the X3 M and X4 M, the S1 Pro lip for the 2025+ Audi RS3 and the Q7/SQ7 splitter. Does my 3 Series, 4 Series or X5 need the M Sport bumper?
For most listings here, yes. The splitters for the F30/F31 and G20 3 Series, F32/F33/F36 4 Series, G30/G31 5 Series, F22 2 Series, G01/G02 X3/X4, F15 X5, F16 X6 and 8 Series are made for the M Sport front bumper. A lip shaped for that bumper will not line up on a standard one. Check the product title and fitment line, and text a photo to 609-525-4865 if you're unsure which bumper your car has.
Can I paint-match or accent a carbon front lip?
On some, yes. Paint-matched finishes are offered on request for the G87 M2 SPL2, and the G80/G82 SPL2 was designed with a multi-level face so you can pick out sections in a contrasting color. Do any painting only after a test-fit, because a painted part can't be returned. Most other listings describe a gloss clear coat, so ask before ordering if you want a different finish.
What comes in a three-piece front splitter?
It depends on the car. The F80 M3/F82 M4 Performance-style kit is a front lip plus two lower splitters. The 8 Series AC-style splitter has a corner piece under each side of the bumper and a lower piece that runs between them. The Q7/SQ7 and RS6/RS7 C8 splitters and the C63 Edition 1 style also come in three pieces. The package section of each listing shows exactly what's included.
