Carbon fiber front end parts for BMW M cars, plus a smaller range for Audi and Mercedes models such as the RS3, C63 and G-Class. Everything that changes the nose of the car is here: front lips and splitters, grilles, canards, bumper trims, fenders and hoods.

The G80 M3 and G82/G83 M4 have the widest choice, led by Unit 17’s own SPL1 and SPL2 splitters, followed by the G87 M2, the X3 M and X4 M, the M5 and the Audi RS3. Most newer parts are pre-preg dry carbon with a gloss clear coat, while older listings simply say real carbon fiber and a few are forged, so read the material line on each product page. Every part comes with a 1-year warranty.

Front buying guide

Start at the bottom edge of the bumper

For most owners the first front-end part is a lip or splitter, because it changes the stance of the car for the least work. A lip follows the lower edge of the bumper, while a splitter sits flatter and reaches further forward, although many listings use both words for the same part. The newer one-piece designs for the G80, G82 and G87 use factory screw holes, whereas older F-series and Mercedes listings call for drilling. Compare the styles and mounting methods under front lips and splitters.

Grilles change the face, canards frame it

A new grille is the most visible swap on a G80 M3 or G82 M4, whose large factory kidney grille divides opinion. The choice runs from CSL to GT, GTS and V styles, and on these two cars the front radar decides which CSL grille fits. The G87 M2, pre-LCI X3 M/X4 M, G20 3 Series and G05 X5 LCI have their own designs among the grilles. Canards are the small winglets on the bumper corners. On a road car they mostly frame the corners and the lip, so choose them to match the lip you have or plan to fit.

Trims that swap out gloss black

If you'd rather keep the factory shape and add carbon detail, bumper trims and accessories are the quieter route. Center trims for the G87 M2, G90 M5, G05 X5 LCI and F95 X5 M LCI dress the middle of the bumper, and the X5 M piece replaces the factory gloss-black trim outright. The G80/G82 lower air ducts replace the originals, and small covers for fuel caps, antennas and door handles finish the details.

Hoods and fenders are bodywork

Replacing a hood or a fender is a panel swap, not a bolt-on accessory. Expect professional fitting with latch and gap adjustment, and allow for a longer wait: large panels can take several weeks to ship, and the G80/G82 hood is marked Coming soon. The fenders section has full dry carbon fenders for the pre-LCI C63 and flared arches for the G-Class, while the BMW pieces there are trims.

Matching front end parts to your exact car

Facelifts matter most at the front, because the bumper usually changes. Parts for the X3 M/X4 M, X5 M, F90 M5, RS3 and C63 come in separate LCI (facelift) and pre-LCI versions, and most splitters for the 3, 4 and 5 Series are made for the M Sport bumper only. Read the fitment line and any radar or model-year option before you order, test-fit before painting, drilling or installing, and text 609-525-4865 if anything is unclear. If a part doesn't fit the car named on its product page, contact us before installing it and our fitment guarantee covers the return shipping.

Frequently asked questions

Should I start with a front lip or a grille?

Start with whatever bothers you most about the stock car. A lip changes the stance and side profile and is usually the simpler job. A grille changes the face you see head-on, and on the G80 M3 and G82 M4 the swap normally means taking the front bumper off, so plenty of owners do both in one visit to the shop. The lip is often the first mod on a G80, as our post on why M3 owners start with the front lip explains.

Which front parts need drilling?

It depends on the listing. The newer pre-preg splitters for the G80, G82 and G87, such as the SPL1 and the CSL-style lip, use factory screw holes with no drilling. The X3 M/X4 M splitters come with pre-drilled holes and self-tapping screws. Many older listings for F-series BMWs, the C63 and the CLA45 say drilling is required and recommend a professional fitter. Canards and small trims often use 3M tape. Each product description states its mounting method.

Is there a complete front-end kit for my car?

Only for a few cars. Full kits, which also cover the sides and rear, are listed for the Audi RS6 C8, RS3 8Y.5 sedan and R8, the BMW G90 M5 and the G20 3 Series under Complete / Body Kits. For M cars such as the G80 M3 or G87 M2 you build the front end piece by piece, which lets you combine a lip, grille and canards in the styles you prefer.

Do carbon front parts interfere with sensors or radar?

They're made to work with them, but you have to choose the right version. The G80/G82 CSL-style grille comes in radar and no-radar versions, the F95 X5 M LCI lower grill trim has pre-cut parking sensor holes, and the VS-style G80 canards are shaped around the factory sensor layout. If a listing doesn't mention your car's sensors, text a photo of your bumper to 609-525-4865 before you order.

Can I return a front part after it's been fitted?

No. Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery only for parts that have not been installed, used or altered, in their original packaging. That's why test-fitting matters: hold the part up to the car before any paint, drilling or adhesive. If it doesn't fit the car named on its product page, tell us before installing it and we cover the return shipping for a refund or replacement. Details are in the return policy.
