BMW G80 M3 & G82/G83 M4 MP Style Rear Diffuser – Prepreg Dry Carbon Fiber

The MP style rear diffuser gives the BMW G80 M3 and G82/G83 M4 a carbon rear end in the spirit of BMW’s M Performance parts: one prepreg dry carbon piece in place of the factory plastic diffuser, with deep fins around the quad tips. It is not a genuine BMW part.

The look

From behind, it reads as one carbon shelf under the bumper. The lowered center section is split into two channels by three vertical fins, with one more fin near each end. Open cut-outs between them frame a pair of tailpipes on each side.

At the outer edges the part turns up into angled end caps. The 2×2 twill sits under a high-gloss clear coat, so the weave shows as fine diagonal lines that catch the light, and every fin edge draws a crisp dark line.

Made for the M3 and M4

On the G80 M3 sedan, G82 M4 coupe and G83 M4 convertible, the factory diffuser is black as standard and frames two pairs of 100 mm tailpipes. With the side sills and the other bumper aero pieces, it forms part of the high-gloss black band BMW runs around the car.

BMW offers a carbon diffuser here in its optional M Carbon exterior package, and the M3 CS, M4 CS and M4 CSL wear one from the factory. This piece brings that exposed carbon to base, Competition and M xDrive cars alike.

Why this one

BMW’s own carbon rear diffuser, part 51128075031, is the one sellers list for the M Carbon exterior package, and it costs far more. BMW’s M Performance center diffuser, 51195A198B5, only works with the M Performance exhaust.

The same style is also sold in wet carbon; this one is autoclave-cured prepreg, lighter and stronger than wet-laid carbon. Next to the 3-piece D3 and the version with an F1-style brake light, it is the simplest swap: one piece, no wiring.

Living with it

It sits where the factory diffuser does, along the lowest edge of the rear bumper, so reverse slowly off steep ramps and give tall parking blocks some room. With no drilling, the original part can go back on if you return the car to stock.

Check before you buy

• The openings suit the factory exhaust, with a pair of tips at each side. BMW’s M Performance exhaust has its own matching diffuser, so check with us first if your car has it or other tip positions.
• The M3 CS, M4 CS and M4 CSL have a carbon rear diffuser from the factory. Check with us before ordering for one of those.
