BMW G80 M3 & G20 3 Series LCI High Kick Ducktail Spoiler PSM style– Prepreg Dry Carbon Fiber

The BMW G80 M3 and the G20 3 Series LCI (facelift) sedan share one trunk lid, and this high kick ducktail spoiler is shaped for it. It rises through the middle and kicks up at both corners, in prepreg dry carbon fiber with a glossy finish.

The look

Seen from behind, it spans the trunk lid from one taillight to the other. The top edge climbs into a raised center section, set off by a small step on each side, then runs out to upturned tips at the corners.

In profile it is a solid wedge with no stands, so the rear deck ends in a sharp upturn instead of a thin lip. At a rear three-quarter angle, the kicked tips stand out.

A twill weave runs diagonally under the gloss clear coat. On the purple M3 Competition in the photos it lays a near-black band across the top of the tail, and it contrasts just as sharply with grey or green paint.

Made for the G80 M3 and G20 sedan

BMW’s parts catalogue lists the same trunk lid (41007455942) for the G80 M3 and the G20 3 Series sedan, which is how one spoiler serves both. The M3 wears its own factory lip there, painted in body color or, on the Competition, High-gloss Black, and the 2023 M340i gets a body-color M rear spoiler.

At the 2023 LCI, the 3 Series got a revised M Sport rear bumper but kept its taillights. Under the hood sits the S58 twin-turbo six in the M3 (473 hp, or 503 hp as a Competition) or the B58 six in the M340i (382 hp at launch).

Why this one

BMW’s carbon trunk spoiler for both cars, part 51628086380, is sold without adhesive tape. BMW’s steeper “high kick” M Performance carbon lip, part 51192458369, is listed for the 330i, 330e and M340i, not the M3. This one brings a high kick shape to the M3 too, at well under the price of either.

Cheaper carbon spoilers are often wet-laid by hand, which can leave excess resin and a wavy weave; prepreg fabric comes with its resin already measured in. One buyer who compared several shops for this style called the fit mint.

• M3 CS. It has its own exposed-carbon rear spoiler from the factory, so check with us before ordering.
