Spotting the LCI front bumper
From the 2021 model year the M5 has bigger intakes at each side of the bumper and a large hexagonal center opening, which holds the oil cooler and the radar sensor. The kidney grille also reaches further down into the bumper. Any 2021–2023 US car has this bumper, and the F90 M5 LCI page has more on telling the versions apart.
F90 M5 front lip choices for the LCI
The MP-style splitter draws on the M Performance look and is made in 3x3 twill carbon fiber with a high-gloss finish. Its listing recommends a professional install for correct alignment. The plain LCI front splitter is the other lip made for this bumper; its listing gives little beyond the name, so ask us for photos and mounting details before you choose it.
3D-style lips and pre-LCI cars
3D Design, a Japanese company that makes parts for BMWs, redesigned its F90 lip for the facelift because the lower bumper changed slightly. The 3D-style lip for 2018–2020 cars is a pre-LCI part, with pre-drilled screw holes and self-tapping screws supplied. The prepreg 3D Design style lip has LCI in its name but describes the pre-facelift car, so text a photo of your bumper to 609-525-4865 and we'll confirm which car it fits.

Which front lips fit a 2021–2023 F90 M5?

The 3D-style lip marked 2018–2020 is a pre-LCI part and isn't the one for your M5.
Do M5 Competition owners need a different lip?
Probably not. BMW's list of Competition extras for the updated car covers black finishes on the kidney grille surround, the fender gill inserts, the mirror caps, the trunk spoiler, the badges and the rear bumper inserts, and the front bumper shape isn't among them. Will an F90 front lip fit the new G90 M5?
No. The G90 is a different generation with its own front apron and a lower intake divided down the middle, so nothing here carries over. G90 owners should look at the G90 M5 front lips, where the MP-style and SQ-A-style lips also suit the G99 Touring.
