BMW G87 M2 & G42 2 Series OEM++ Rear Spoiler – Prepreg Dry Carbon Fiber (Unitexclusives)

We designed the OEM++ rear spoiler to give the BMW G87 M2 and G42 2 Series coupe a cleaner, more finished tail. It keeps the familiar shape of BMW’s M Performance spoiler, and we carried that line in prepreg dry carbon all the way to both ends of the trunk lid.

The look

Seen straight from behind, the OEM++ draws one wide, flat line across the top of the trunk, just above the taillights. It reaches the corners of the trunk lid instead of stopping short, so it reads as part of the bodywork rather than something added on.

In profile it stays low and tidy: a short lip that sharpens the trunk’s edge without turning the car into a wing car. The 2×2 twill weave shows through a gloss clear coat and catches the light across the whole width.

On the red, dark grey and white M2s in our photos, the carbon puts a dark accent at the top of the rear end that echoes the dark diffuser below.

Made for the G87 M2

The G87 M2 is BMW’s compact M coupe, powered by the S58 twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six it shares with the M3 and M4. Its rear end is all width: broad, squared-off fenders and four tailpipes set into a large central diffuser.

From the factory, the short trunk lid ends in a small lip spoiler, about the size of the M240i’s. The OEM++ gives that trunk a stronger top edge to match the fenders. The G42 2 Series coupe shares the M2’s short-trunk shape, and BMW’s own M Performance spoiler is sold for both, so the OEM++ fits the G42 too.

Why this one

Many carbon spoilers for the M2 copy the shape of BMW’s M Performance spoiler (part 51195A51348), gaps at the trunk corners included. We kept that familiar look but ran ours the full width, in prepreg dry carbon with a 2×2 weave.

Cheaper copies can warp or see their clear coat yellow in the sun. Prepreg dry carbon under a gloss clear coat is what the OEM++ is made of.

Living with it

The OEM++ sits low along the trailing edge of the trunk lid, so it adds a sharper edge without real height and keeps your view out of the rear window clear. We sell it as a styling part: it changes how the rear looks, and we make no claims about downforce.

Check before you buy

• The M2 CS comes with its own carbon trunk lid with a molded-in ducktail. The OEM++ is made for the standard M2 and G42 trunk lid, so check with us before ordering for a CS.
