A G87 M2 spoiler comes in two very different forms. The first is a lip spoiler that mounts on top of your factory trunk lid. The second is a whole new trunk lid with the spoiler built in. With us, the lip route costs $399 to $449 and keeps your trunk lid. The trunk-lid route costs $1,995, replaces the lid, and our listing recommends a professional install.
We’ll also compare our spoilers and trunks with BMW’s M Performance spoiler, and cover what the 2026 M2 CS’s ducktail trunk means for a regular M2.
Key takeaways
- A lip spoiler mounts on your factory trunk lid. A CSL-style trunk replaces the whole lid.
- Our OEM++ spoiler is our best-selling M2 part, and it’s listed for the G87 M2 and the G42 2 Series coupe.
- Our MP style and CS style lip spoilers are $399 each, and their listings say no drilling is needed.
- Our CSL-style carbon trunks are $1,995 and are sold as a direct replacement for the factory trunk.
- The M2 CS has a carbon trunk lid with an integrated ducktail. We don’t sell that BMW part.
Spoiler or full trunk lid: what’s the difference?
The G87 leaves the factory with a small lip spoiler at the end of its short trunk lid. Our OEM++ listing compares it to the one on the M240i. Every option here changes that edge, in one of two ways.
A lip spoiler sits on the trailing edge of the lid you already have. A replacement trunk lid swaps the whole panel for a carbon one with the spoiler shaped into it.

The OEM++ rear spoiler: our best-selling M2 part
The OEM++ rear spoiler is the M2 part our customers buy most. It’s $449 (regular $599) and it’s our own design.
It follows the familiar shape of BMW’s M Performance spoiler, but runs the full width of the trunk lid. Our listing spells out the difference. BMW’s spoiler stops short of the trunk corners, and the OEM++ runs out to both ends. From behind, it reads as one flat line just above the taillights.
It’s prepreg dry carbon fiber with a 2×2 twill weave under a gloss clear coat. If you’re wondering why that matters, our prepreg vs wet layup guide covers it.
The spoiler sits low on the trailing edge, so it doesn’t block your view out of the rear window. We sell it as a styling part and make no claims about downforce.

Does the OEM++ fit the G42 2 Series?
Yes, the listing covers the BMW G42 2 Series 2022+ as well as the G87 M2 2023 to 2027. That’s because the G42 coupe shares the M2’s short-trunk shape, and BMW’s own M Performance spoiler is sold for both cars.
You can see this in BimmerWorld’s listing for that BMW part (51195A51348), which puts the G42 230i and M240i and the G87 M2 under one part number. If you drive a G42, browse our G42 spoilers.
MP style and CS style spoilers, and BMW’s M Performance part
We sell two more lip spoilers for the G87 and G42, each $399 (regular $499):
- The MP style rear spoiler takes its name and look from BMW’s M Performance (MP) spoiler.
- The CS style rear spoiler is a lip spoiler for the factory trunk lid, not a replacement trunk lid.
Both are prepreg dry carbon, and both listings say you don’t need to drill. The MP style has sold more of the two.

What is the M Performance spoiler?
It’s BMW’s own carbon trunk spoiler for the G42 and G87, part number 51195A51348. BimmerWorld lists it at $652.35 and shows it with BMW’s spoiler adhesive kit. IND Distribution lists it at $709. IND also notes that on the G87 M2 the factory lip spoiler has to be removed first. In February 2023, BMWBlog reported a $775 price for the carbon trunk lid spoiler.
Does our OEM++ or MP style also need the factory lip removed? The listings don’t say, so text us before you start.

CSL-style carbon trunks: V1, V2 and V3
If you want the spoiler shaped into the trunk itself, we sell three CSL-style dry carbon trunks, all $1,995 (regular $2,795). They’re listed for the G87 M2 2023 to 2027 only.
Here’s what the listings say about all three:
- Prepreg dry carbon fiber with a high-gloss finish.
- An integrated lip spoiler and a CSL-inspired design.
- A direct replacement for the factory trunk that weighs less than the factory part. The listing gives no weight figure.
- UV and weather resistant.
- Professional installation recommended.
- Contact us for shipping rates.
The CSL Style Trunk V1 is the one customers have bought so far. Its listing links our video of the CSL style trunk and a vented hood on a G87 M2. The V2 and V3 use the same description, so compare the photos to see the shape of each one.

How does a trunk-lid swap work?
Our trunk listings recommend professional installation, but they don’t list which factory parts move to the new lid. Ask us what moves over before you book the install.
For reference, Alpha-N lists its own G87 CSL trunk lid as a full replacement. That listing says all original BMW hardware is transferred from the factory trunk. It says the lid uses the factory mounting points and arrives in raw carbon that needs paint. That’s another maker’s product, so don’t read it as a description of ours.
Keep two store rules in mind. We can’t take back painted or installed parts, and our fitment guarantee asks you to contact us before installing:
“If a part doesn’t fit the vehicle listed on its product page, contact us before installing and we’ll cover the return shipping for a refund or replacement.”
So test-fit first, then paint or install. Follow the instructions that come with the part.

The M2 CS trunk: can a regular G87 use one?
BMW revealed the 2026 M2 CS in May 2025. BMW’s US press release says the car has a “lightweight CFRP trunk lid with integrated ducktail spoiler.” The lid carries an “M2 CS” logo with a red border.
The same release gives these numbers:
- 523 hp.
- 97 pounds lighter than a standard M2 with the 8-speed Steptronic.
- A base MSRP of $98,600 plus $1,175 destination.
- Built at Plant San Luis Potosí in Mexico from August 2025.
The press release doesn’t say whether BMW sells the CS trunk lid as a part for the standard M2. We haven’t found a BMW source that does either. So we can’t tell you it bolts on. We don’t sell the BMW M2 CS trunk lid, and we don’t sell a replica of it. Our trunks are CSL style, and our CS style spoiler is a lip for the factory trunk.
If you own an M2 CS, the OEM++ listing asks you to check with us before ordering, because it’s made for the standard M2 and G42 trunk lid.
What about a wing?
“G87 M2 spoiler wing” is a common search, so here are the taller options. We list an MP style carbon wing for the G87 M2 and G42 at $1,149. There’s also an AD style aggressive wing at $1,449, listed for the G87 M2 as well as the G80 M3 and G82 M4. Its listing says stands and mounting hardware are included.
BMW’s own M Performance rear carbon wing for the G87 (51625A63C65) is $3,113.70 at BimmerWorld. Their listing says it replaces any other wing or spoiler, so whatever you have now comes off. All our M2 rear parts are on the G87 M2 spoilers page.

Frequently asked questions
Does a G87 M2 spoiler need drilling?
Our MP style and CS style spoiler listings say no drilling is needed. BimmerWorld lists BMW’s spoiler adhesive kit as a related item for the M Performance spoiler. For the OEM++, ask us before you install.
Will a G42 M240i spoiler fit the G87 M2?
Our OEM++, MP style and CS style spoilers are each listed for both the G42 2 Series and the G87 M2. BMW’s M Performance spoiler uses one part number for both cars. IND Distribution notes that on the M2 the factory lip spoiler has to come off first.
Can I put an M2 CS trunk on a regular M2?
BMW’s press release describes the CS trunk lid but doesn’t say it’s sold as a retrofit for the standard M2. We haven’t found a BMW source that confirms it fits. We don’t sell the genuine CS lid, so we can’t confirm the fit.
Does a carbon trunk lid save weight?
Our CSL-style trunk listings say they weigh less than the factory trunk but give no figure. BMW says the M2 CS is 97 pounds lighter than a standard 8-speed M2. Keep in mind that number is for the whole car.
Can I return a spoiler after painting it?
No. Returns are accepted for 14 days on uninstalled parts, and painted or installed parts can’t be returned. Test-fit the part before you paint it, and contact us before installing if it doesn’t fit.
Does a lip spoiler add downforce on the M2?
We sell the OEM++ as a styling part and make no claims about downforce, and our other lip spoiler listings don’t either.
Which G87 M2 spoiler should you choose?
For a full-width carbon lip that keeps your factory trunk, start with the OEM++ rear spoiler. It’s our best seller for the M2 and it’s listed for the G42 too. If you want the M Performance shape for less than BMW’s part, the MP style is $399. If you want the spoiler shaped into a carbon trunk, look at the CSL Style Trunk V1 and its V2 and V3 versions, and plan for a professional install.
All our parts carry a 1-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. It doesn’t cover accidents, impacts, road debris or damage from improper installation. Most orders ship within 5 business days. You can see everything we make for the car on our BMW G87 M2 page. Not sure which trunk or spoiler suits your car? Text us at 609-525-4865.
