Up front there are two splitters made for the LCI bumper: an MP-style splitter in 3×3 twill carbon and a plain LCI splitter. At the back you can choose a CS-style diffuser or a 3D-style 3-piece diffuser, and finish the trunk with a PSM high-kick spoiler. Is your M5 an LCI?
BMW announced the facelift in June 2020 for the 2021 model year, and the F90 was built until July 2023, so 2021, 2022 and 2023 US cars are LCI. You can spot one by its slimmer LED headlights with L-shaped light tubes, L-shaped taillights, a kidney grille that reaches further down into the bumper, and a 12.3-inch center screen where earlier cars had a 10.25-inch one. The M5 CS, a 2022 model in the US, is built on the LCI car.
Front splitters for the LCI bumper
The facelift brought a new front bumper with larger side intakes and a hexagonal center intake, so front lips are made for one version or the other. The MP-style splitter is 3x3 twill carbon with a high-gloss finish, listed for 2021-on cars, and we recommend a professional install for proper alignment. The plain LCI front splitter is the other option made for this bumper. Two 3D-style lips also appear here: one is marked 2018–2020 pre-LCI, and the other describes the pre-facelift car in its text, so check with us before ordering either for an LCI.
Diffusers and the trunk spoiler
BMW restyled the rear bumper and diffuser for 2021 as well. The CS-style diffuser is made for the LCI and finished in high gloss. The 3D-style diffuser comes in three pieces with a 2x2 weave, a deep gloss clear coat and UV protection; it replaces the factory diffuser on the M5 and M5 Competition, and the rear bumper has to come off to fit it. An older 3-piece diffuser with rear splitters is listed for 2018–2020 cars, and its description says it also fits the LCI. Because the rear changed, text us at 609-525-4865 before you order that one. The PSM high-kick spoiler adds a raised lip to the trunk.
Frequently asked questions
Can I fit a 2018–2020 front lip to a 2021-on M5?
Not as a rule. BMW reshaped the front bumper for 2021, with larger side intakes and a new center intake, so lips are made for one version. For an LCI, choose the MP-style splitter or the plain LCI splitter. The 3D-style lip marked 2018–2020 is a pre-LCI part.
Which diffuser is made for the facelifted F90?
The CS-style diffuser and the 3D-style 3-piece diffuser are both listed for the LCI. The 3D-style piece also names the M5 Competition. The older 3-piece diffuser with rear splitters is sold for 2018–2020 cars and says it fits the LCI too, but BMW restyled the rear for 2021, so confirm with us first.
How does the 3D-style diffuser go on?
It takes the place of the factory diffuser, and the rear bumper has to be removed to fit it, so most owners use a professional installer. Test-fit it before any paint or permanent fixing: installed parts can't be returned.
Is there a 2024 F90 M5?
Not in the US. The last F90s were built in July 2023, so 2023 is the final US model year. The next M5 is the G90 M5, sold from the 2025 model year, with its own parts.
