Small G80 M3 & G82 M4 Carbon Parts: Air Ducts, Fender Vents and Mirror Caps, With Prices

Small G80 M3 & G82 M4 Carbon Parts: Air Ducts, Fender Vents and Mirror Caps, With Prices

Small G80 M3 carbon parts are the cheapest way to get carbon onto the car, though not all of them come in under $500. At the time of writing (October 2026), our carbon fender air breathers cost $399 a set, and a handful of trim pieces cost less. Our two best sellers in this group, the MP style front air ducts and the replacement mirror covers, are $599 each. Prices change, so check the product page before you order.

For each one we cover the price, what it replaces and how it goes on. Unless we say otherwise, everything here fits the G80 M3 and the G82/G83 M4.

Key takeaways

  • Our fender air breathers are $399 and come as separate M3 and M4 sets.
  • The front air ducts and mirror covers are $599 each. They’re our two best-selling small parts.
  • Both front duct parts need the front bumper off. The fender vents and mirror covers don’t.
  • Our mirror covers are full replacement caps for left-hand-drive cars, not stick-on overlays.
  • BMW uses one factory mirror cap on the G8X and some G20 models, but we only list ours for the M3 and M4.

Only one of the three main parts, the fender air breathers, fits a $500 budget.

G80 air ducts: what they replace and how they install

The front air ducts sit in the intakes on each side of the kidney grille. BMW gives the M3 and M4 the same front end, with a two-section intake on each side. Our product listing says the inner section feeds the brakes and the outer one the remote coolant radiators. From the factory, both get honeycomb mesh.

The MP style front air ducts: a left and right pair, one diagonal fin each.

Our MP style front bumper air ducts are our best-selling small part. Each one is an open prepreg carbon frame with a single diagonal fin, and it takes the place of the honeycomb insert instead of sitting on top of the mesh. For comparison, BimmerWorld lists BMW’s genuine left carbon inlet frame, 51118074773, at $1,885.40 for one side. Ours are $599 for the pair.

How the air ducts install

Per the listing:

  1. The front bumper comes off to reach the ducts.
  2. The tabs around each frame clip into the factory duct positions.
  3. Keep the factory inserts. The carbon ducts use the same positions, so the car can go back to stock later.

The listing also quotes an owner who fitted the pair: the bumper was the hard part, and once it was off the ducts snapped into place.

There is a trade-off. Without the mesh, stones and road debris have a clearer path to the radiators behind the intakes, and BimmerWorld’s page for BMW’s own inlet says the same thing. If you drive gravel roads a lot, think about that.

The M3 CS and M4 CS already have carbon front intakes from the factory, and the M Carbon exterior package adds carbon inlays here. If your car is one of those, text us before you order.

The front lower dual air duct

The front lower dual air duct is the other front duct part, also $599. Its photos show two fins per side instead of one. You’ll need the bumper off for this one too, because the original mounting points are behind it. The factory fixings move over to the carbon part.

G80 M3 fender vents: separate sets for the M3 and M4

BMW calls these fender trims air breathers. Its 2020 M Performance Parts press release says the carbon air breathers “set an eye-catching accent” from the side. You’ll find them on each front fender, just ahead of the door.

We sell two sets, both $399 at the time of writing. The M3 set is listed for the G80 M3 and is our third best-selling small part. The M4 set is listed for the G82 and G83 M4. BMW’s own carbon trim is model-specific too: BimmerWorld lists the genuine M Performance carbon fender trim for the G80 M3 only, at $1,315.99 a pair. Order the set for your car.

Neither set comes with a badge, so you reuse your factory one. Here are the steps from the M3 listing:

  1. Remove the factory fender trim.
  2. Move the original mounting hardware to the back of the carbon trim.
  3. Take the badge off the factory piece, put fresh 3M tape on it and stick it onto the carbon trim.
  4. Line the trim up on the fender and press it in. It clips in like the factory part.

Some fender “vents” you’ll see elsewhere are overlays taped over the factory trim. Ours replace the trim itself.

G80 mirror caps: replacement covers, not stick-on overlays

There are two kinds of mirror cap. An overlay sticks on top of the factory cap with tape, and a replacement cap swaps out the factory outer cap entirely. BimmerWorld draws the same line on its page for Akrapovic’s replacement caps, which it says are “not overlay covers held in place with tape and glue.”

Our carbon mirror covers are the replacement kind. They’re $599 for the pair and our second best-selling small part. A few things from the listing worth knowing before you buy:

  • They’re for left-hand-drive cars only. The listing says the driver-side mirror on the M3 and M4 is smaller and needs its own fit.
  • The box has one pair of covers and a pry tool to help remove the factory covers.
  • They’re listed for the G80 M3 and G82/G83 M4, 2021 on.

We’re not going to guess at removal steps here. Follow the instructions that come with the part, and if a cap won’t release, text us.

Will G80 mirror caps fit a G20?

BMW’s part numbers say some G20s share the factory cap. BimmerWorld lists the factory left mirror cap, BMW 51169500711, as the M Sport or M2/M3/M4 cap. It fits the G80 M3, G82/G83 M4 and G87 M2, plus the G20 M340i, G42 M240i, G22/G23 M440i and G26 M440i Gran Coupe. For the M340i and M440i, BimmerWorld says it’s the stock cap on 2023 and later LCI models.

That said, we only list our covers for the M3 and M4, so our fitment guarantee doesn’t extend to a G20. If you have a G20, look at our G20 mirror caps or text us first.

Headlamp cover and other carbon trim

The headlamp cover is $573.85. It’s an engine bay part, listed in matte or gloss, with separate G80/G82 and G87 M2 versions.

The carbon cooling shroud is $499 for the G80, G82, G83 and G87, with self-tapping screws in the box.

The door handle covers ($338) are listed for the G80 M3 and G20 3 Series, with 2021 to 2023 and 2024 options. The antenna cover ($80) comes in LCI and pre-LCI versions, and the fuel cap cover is $67.85.

If the open air ducts have you worried about stones, our aluminum oil cooler guard is $269. It isn’t carbon, but it’s worth a look. See our oil cooler guard guide for what it protects.

How to plan a build with a lip and diffuser

Here’s the order we’d plan it in:

  1. Do the front duct parts together. Both need the bumper off, so if a shop is pulling the bumper, fit both in one visit.
  2. Add a front lip, since the ducts sit in the bumper openings right above it.
  3. Do the side view next: fender vents, mirror covers and side skirts.
  4. Finish the rear with a diffuser.

Frequently asked questions

Do the G80 air ducts fit the G82 M4?

Yes. Both our MP style air ducts and the front lower dual air duct are listed for the G80 M3 and G82/G83 M4, which share a front end. If you have a CS or the M Carbon exterior package, text us first.

Do I need to remove the bumper to install G80 air ducts?

Yes. Both of our front duct parts need the front bumper off. After that, the MP style ducts clip into the factory duct positions.

Are your G80 mirror caps stick-on covers?

No. They’re full replacement caps, and the box has a pry tool to help remove the factory covers. They’re made for left-hand-drive cars only.

Are the M3 and M4 fender vents the same part?

We sell them as separate sets: one listed for the G80 M3 and one for the G82/G83 M4. Order the set for your car. Neither comes with a badge, so you move your factory badge over with fresh 3M tape.

Can I put my car back to stock after fitting the air ducts?

Yes, as long as you hang on to the factory honeycomb inserts. The carbon ducts clip into the same positions, so the inserts can go back in later.

What if a part doesn’t fit my car?

If a part doesn’t fit the vehicle listed on its product page, contact us before installing and we’ll cover the return shipping for a refund or replacement. Uninstalled parts can be returned within 14 days. Painted or installed parts can’t be returned.

Which small carbon part should you start with?

If you want to spend under $500, start with the fender air breathers for your car (M4 owners, see the M4 vent trims). They’re $399 and the bumper stays on. If you can stretch to $599, the front air ducts are our best-selling small part, while the mirror covers are the one you’ll actually see from the driver’s seat.

Most orders ship within 5 business days. Our 1-year warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship, not accidents, impacts, road debris or damage from improper installation. Browse everything for your car on the G80 M3 page, or text us at 609-525-4865 with your car and the part you’re looking at.
